Men's Basketball Wins 5th Straight After 2-0 Tournament

SCF Men's Basketball wins their 5th straight, as they go 2-0 through the Florida vs. Georgia Thanksgiving Classic Tournament, hosted by SCF Athletics.

On Thanksgiving day, SCF faced off against Gordon State at 4:00. The Manatees trailed 43-44 at halftime. In the 2nd half, it was a much different story as the Manatees outscored Gordon State by 10 to cap an 83-74 victory.

SCF had 5 players that scored double-digits, led by #4 Ronnail Tape. Tape was 6-10 from the floor, scoring 16 points. He also led the team in rebounds with 8 total.

On Friday, the Manatees matched up against Georgia Highlands College, a team they've had some success against over the past few seasons. After trailing at the half, 26-47, the team mounted a stunning comeback, scoring a whopping 65 points to earn the victory 91-77.

The star of Friday's game was Skylar Wicks, who went off in the 2nd half with 32 points. He finished with a total of 36 to lead the team. Wicks also led the team with 7 steals and 7 rebounds. Cobey Harraway and Isaiah Josue were the only others to finish with double-digit point totals, scoring 18 and 10, respectively. Josh Iseh led the team with 3 blocks.

The Manatees look to carry their momentum into their next matchup against St. Petersburg College. The game will be played on November 30 at 7:00 pm on the campus of St. Petersburg College. The Manatees earned a victory in their last matchup against St. Pete less than 2 weeks ago, 102-98 in overtime.
