Beach VB Remains on Top Over Lake Sumter

Tavares, Fla - While spring break is underway, the SCF beach volleyball team (7-2, 7-0 Region 8) kept their foot on the gas pedal to start their spring break with a win over Lake Sumter State (4-4, 3-3 Region 8) by a score of 4-1 at Hickory Point Beach in Tavares to remain on top for conference play.

The duo of sophomore Caelan Cook and freshman Katrina Tallo would defeat sophomore Allie Cox and freshman Rylee Martineau 21-16, 21-14 at the #5 pair. After sophomore Bailee Perry and freshman Morgan McGuire fell at the #4 spot, the freshmen duo of Aleksandra Wrobel and Addison Beaver defeated sophomore Cassidy Rountree and freshman Kai Register with a 21-13 pair decision at the #3 pair spot to take the lead.

From there, the duo of sophomore Amanda Goudinho Pizzol and freshman Teresa Briefeneder would defeat sophomore Elaina Reynolds and freshman Hana Roberts with a 21-12 pair decision at the #1 pair spot before the duo of sophomore Kayla Gentry and freshman Rhea Kohl defeated sophomore Marisa Hauser and freshman Martina Soler Marti 21-12, 21-13 at the #2 pair spot.

Other Region 8 Scores:

Palm Beach State (8-4, 4-1 Region 8) shutout Ave Maria University (5-3, 5-0 Sun) 5-0 on the road.
