Bradenton, Fl. - The Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) has named Sydney Jaco as the defensive player of the week.

She leads Region 8 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in DIGS to begin her career, which ranks third nationally. The freshman averaged 6.6 DIGS in 37 sets over 11 matches to start the season.

In the team's first 12 matches, she has recorded double-digit DIGS in all matches.  This includes five straight entries in to the 25-DIG Club. She recently managed a season-high 39 DIGS against Gadsden State. 

The next home match for the Manatees is Wednesday September 12th.  The Manatees play Florida Gateway at 2:00 and Broward College at 4:00.
