Basketball Wins Suncoast Conference Tournament

Bradenton, Fla - The State College of Florida Men's Basketball team overcame double digit deficit to win the Suncoast Conference Tournament.  SCF broke the century mark defeating Polk 103-96.  The Manatees trailed by four at the end of the first half.  SCF scored 56 in the second half behind four Manatees who each scored double digits in the second half. 

D'Moi Hodge scored 15 of his 22 points in the second half and Isiah Dasher scored 14 of his 16 total points in the second half.  Both Cyrus Barnes and DeAndre Osuigwe scored 10 points in the second half.  Barnes lead all Manatees with 24 in the game while Osuigwe added 16 total points. Tre Alexandrea, also, scored in double figures as he added 11 points.  

With the win, SCF qualifies for the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA)/National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 8 tournament in Ocala, Florida.  The Men's tournament begins on March 7 and concludes on March 9.  The Manatees will play the first round at 8:00 p.m. on March 7th.  The opponent is the Mid-Florida Champion Eastern Florida State College Titans.
