Bradenton, Fla - It is time for March Madness! State College of Florida basketball has qualified for the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 8 basketball tournament in Ocala, Florida.  The single elimination tournament begins Thursday March 7 and the champion will be crowned on Saturday March 9.  The tournament champion qualfies for the NJCAA National Tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas, March 18-23.  This is the first berth in the tournament for the Manatees since 2012-13. 

SCF enters the tournament ranked tenth in the FCSAA Coaches Poll.  The Manatees will square off with Eastern Florida State College, the Mid-Florida Conference Champion, in the first round of the tournament.  The Titans of EFSC are ranked fourth in the state and eighteenth in the nation.  This will be the first meeting between the two teams this season. 

Tip off for SCF Manatees versus Eastern Florida is scheduled for 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 7.  The complete schedule is available through the tournament website.
