Manatees Edge Conquistadors

Manatees Edge Conquistadors

Bradenton, Fla - The Manatees came in to Tuesday nights game, against Pasco Hernando State College, looking to stop a two game slide.  They did so in exciting fashion and earned their third win of the season.

With a last second put back by Reshard Brown, State College of Florida topped the Conquistadors by a score of 100-98. Brown posted 21 total points in the game and pulled down 13 rebounds.  For Brown, this was his first double-double of the season.

The Manatees trailed by four points at the half.  Behind the sharp shooting of Harrison Hebert, SCF overcame the deficit and later went on to victory.  Hebert scored 9 three point field goals and a total of 29 points in the game.  His efforts fell short of the college record of 10 three point field goals in a game set by James Life during the 2004-2005 season.  Ironically, that performance came against the same Conquistadors of Pasco Hernando.

Sophomore guard and team scoring leader, Josh Floyd, posted a double-double in the win.  He scored 21 points and dished out 10 assists.  Floyd is averaging 15 points per game and 6 assists per game.

The Manatees play host the 4th ranked Panther of Palm Beach State Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
