Tallahassee, Fla - The Manatees basketball team begins preparation for the 2015-16 season which opens October 30th at Hal Chasey Gymnasium against Impact Academy.

Before the season opener the the Manatees warm up with two jamborees and two home scrimmages.  Today the Manatees will participate in one of the premier events in the the nation, the Southeastern Jamboree.  The jamboree, hosted at Tallahassee Community College, features 18 of the top NJCAA basketball teams in the Southeast. 

The jamboree format allows three courts to play simultaneously.  Each team will play three games consisting of two halves, each with a 23 minute running half.  In total 18 teams from Florida and Georgia will participate in the event.

State College of Florida will be tested with scrimmages against Gulf Coast State College (10:00 am), Albany Tech (2:00 pm), and Tallahasee Community College (4:00 pm).  The complete schedule for the event is available here. 

Admission is $10 for spectators.
