Basketball Defeats IMG Academy, 105-89

Bradenton, Fla - The Manatees basketball team started a six game home stretch Monday night against cross town foe IMG Academy.  SCF began the game slow, but behind the aggressive aggressive play of Joshua Floyd, the Manatees went in to the halftime break with a 15 point lead.  Floyd scored 22 of this 24 points in the first half. 

Daniel Duarte scored 17 of his 23 points in the second half of the game and lead the Manatees to a 105-89 victory.  Harrison Hebert tallied 13 points after knocking down 4 of 6 from behind the arc.  Freshman point guard, Jordan Gaskins, added 10 points.  Rahim Williams was active around the in the paint scoring 11 points and 4 rebounds.  Eight was the magic number for leading rebounder Resahrd Brown, who pulled down 8 boards and scored 8 points.

Free throw shooting continues to be a highlight of improvement for the Manatees.  During the 2014-15 campaign SCF struggled at the line and shot just 58.6%.  These Manatees of 2015-16 have drastically improved to 77.3% from the charity stripe.

SCF looks to continue its winning ways as College of Central Florida comes to town on Wednesday, November 18, 2015.  The Patriots are 5-2 on the season, with their only loses coming in road games.  Tip off is scheduled for 7:00 pm in Hal Chasey Gymnasium.
