Bio

Only the 3rd head baseball coach in SCF’s 55 year history, he takes over the program from his father, Tim Hill Sr., who retired on June 30, 2012 as the Florida all-time wins leader with 1192 victories.

During Hill’s tenure as an assistant coach from 1999 to 2012, SCF teams advanced to the state tournament all 14 seasons while winning state championships and advancing to the JUCO World Series in 1999, 2002 and 2010.  During this time, SCF won 7 Suncoast Conference titles and were state runners-up in 2006 and 2008.  Hill had 125 players advance to 4 year colleges and universities including 62 players who signed with NCAA Division 1 universities. Sixty-four players signed professional contracts, including three players who advanced to the major leagues (John Webb – 1999, Callix Crabbe – 2002 and Matt Maloney 2003).  Nine players received All-American honors and four players were named the Florida JUCO Player of the Year.  He also coached 7 Suncoast Conference Players of the Year and 116 All Suncoast Conference selections.

From 1995-98, Hill was an assistant baseball coach at Georgia Southwestern State University (GSW) where in 1997 he received his master’s degree in health and physical education.  In 1998, he helped coach GSW to a Georgia Athletic Conference championship and a berth in the NAIA Southeastern Regional Tournament.

Prior to GSW, Hill worked for three years for the Boston Red Sox in business operations.  From 1993-95, he was the Red Sox’s director of merchandising for Major League Spring Training and an assistant general manager for the Fort Lauderdale and Sarasota Red Sox during the 1993 and 1994 Florida State League seasons.

A 1990 graduate of SCF, Hill played in the College’s baseball program from 1988-90.  He was named to the 1988 All-State Academic team and the 1990 All-State Tournament team.  Hill received his bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 1992, where he graduated with cum laude honors.

Hill and his wife, the former Belinda Walker, are the proud parents of Timothy W. III and Leigha Elizabeth.
