Play Resumes After Days of Rain Cancelled Games at FCSAA State Tournament

Lakeland, Fla - The Manatees started the FCSAA State tournament with two victories in the first two days.  Setting up battle of the two unbeatens that was to be played Sunday evening.  With the incoming storms the game was re-scheduled for Sunday afternoon in an attempt to beat the storms.  Mother Nature wasn't having any of it.  As the storms rolled in on Sunday the game that was being played before the Manatees game was suspended.

Monday the teams sat at the ready, prepared to take the field if the radar cleared.  As it turns out there was just enough time to complete the suspended game between Tallahassee Community College and Santa Fe College. The Manatees took advantage of the time off and took batting practice at the Lakeland Flying Tigers indoor hitting facility.

As we head in to Tuesday, the plan is as follows (contingent upon weather conditions):

  • SCF v. Chipola College - 9:00 am
  • HCC v. Loser of SCF/Chipola - 30 minutes following the conclusion of SCF/Chipola
  • Santa Fe v. Winner of SCF/Chiplola - 30 minutes following conclusion of game above

Wednesday's schedule is to be determined.  Updates will be posted on SCF's Facebook and Twitter.
