Baseball Rally Falls Short

Bradenton, Fla - State College of Florida Baseball lost at home tonight 12-11 to Polk State, dropping their second straight conference game.  With the loss, the Manatees have fallen under .500, again, in the conference at 6-7

Down 12-5 in the bottom of the ninth inning, SCF scored 6 runs.  SCF bad the bases loaded, representing the tying and go ahead runs, but were unable to plate the runs. A flyout to rightfield ended the game and SCF's comeback attempt.

The Manatees managed 17 total hits, but it wasn't enough.  They were lead by Keshawn Lynch and Garrett Hall who each had 4 hits. Nine of Polk's 12 runs were scored with 2 outs.

The same two teams will meet in Winter Haven this Wednesday for game 2 of the three game series.
