March 16 Coronavirus-COVID-19 SCF Athletics Update

NJCAA cancels Spring competitions. Following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) decided to cancel the Spring athletic season and the basketball national championship tournament.  This includes the cancelation of all practices, regular season, and championship play.  Additionally, colleges may not participate in on campus or off campus recruiting activities through April 15.  

What does this mean for SCF Manatees?

All Manatees spring contests have been canceled.  The NJCAA has indicated, "no spring sport student-athlete who was enrolled at a member college in 2020 will be charged a year of participation." This will preserve the season of eligibility for beach volleyball, baseball, softball, and tennis.  All spring sport practices and workouts are canceled, as well.
